1950-2020 A.D. is known as the Oil Age or the Neo-Classical Era. Dates before 1950 but before year 0001 A.D. are considered the Old World or the Classical Era. Before that is considered Early History.

There's already a list of terms compiled in the Guidelines part of the wiki, so... Anything that's decent enough could show up there!

The Information Age continued up until around the 2010's, though was overlapped by a new aged termed the Attention Age. The Attention aged developed out of social media, from users creating and consuming information (mostly about themselves) freely and regularly.

(True story, the age we ARE currently in is deemed such! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attention_Age )

Around 2020, conflicts over resources brought humanity into a new age of strife, uncertainty, and panic. It was deemed to be a second Dark Age, (unofficial title) which lasted until the conclusion of the Third World War around 2030.

From 2031 to 2064, Earth met with three disasters: Nuclear and Antimatter Fallout, The Great Deluge, and the New Ice Age. Governments faltered under social pressure and were all pretty much nullified. This was a period of anarchy, of when humanity was forced into nomadic tribes dependent upon what they could scavenge.

Toward the end of that era, there were significant movements to unify and reestablish civilization. The Global Authority started with just a few tribes banding together, until eventually entire regions fell under their control. Not many people willfully gave themselves to the new world order, but most did out of necessity.

2065 was the last year with AD status, (and all years during and before it are considered 'Old World',) for the next year to start after that was the first of AU (After Unity). There have been 151 years of peace through unity for humanity, and not much significant progress has been made during that time. Within the previous century and a half and more years to come, humanity is in an age of reconstruction.
