She took a deep breath and punched the door's emergency override. The cool night air rushed in, flushing the airlock of the freighter's stale, fetid odors with which she had lived for the last two weeks. The spaceport had its own peculiar aromas as well but they were a relief after spending the time sandwiched in an air duct.

Jacki slipped furtively out of the the emergency hatch. An alarm would sound of course but by the time anyone arrived to deal with it she would be long gone. She glanced around and spotted a number of stacked cargo pallets. After making sure there were no signs of movement out there she moved sprinted across the landing bay and slid between the large metal trays. Finally she was back home.

They would be here of course, somewhere... hiding in the shadows and preying on the weak. They wouldn't have gone away, confident in their ability to hide amongst the masses, incessant in their need for flesh. But how to bring them down? Having arrived at her quarry's lair she realised she didn't have a plan. For a moment she panicked wondering if she had made the wrong move but the desire for answers, the desire for vengeance burned within her and, steeling herself for what was to come, she whipered a silent oath to take revenge.
